Lean Operation Process Improvement Tools

The free Timer Pro Professional download allows you to use a full evaluation copy of this module for your line balancing and process analysis needs. Timer Pro Professional presents the tasks involved in any business process as series of task bars on the screen.
The height of each bar represents the total time for each task. Up to 300 tasks can be presented simultaneously on the screen.

The stacked bars are also referred to as Yamazumi charts by those involved in Kaizen and lean initiatives.

Each task bar consists of a series of chips representing the sequential activities involved in the performance of the task.  The height of each activity chip is proportional to the time taken to perform that activity. Each task in Timer Pro Professional can have up to 1000 activities associated with it. Each activity can also be assigned it own color code to graphically highlight the state of the process.

The Professional screen has sliders and scroll bars that allow you to drill down to the detail of even the most complicated process."

At Timer Pro Professional's most basic level you simply click on any chip and drag and drop it to any other location in the process

Timer Pro Professional makes it easy to combine, add and delete tasks with simple mouse actions. It also offers a full array of advanced editing features found in no other product all accessed via the click of the mouse.

Non Value Added Activities and Delays

Every activity chip can have characteristics associated with it. The chips can be edited individually but it is often easier to activate the Professional grid view

The following characteristics can be assigned to each activity:

bulletValue Added
bulletNon Value Added
bulletNormal Activity
bulletGrouped Activity
bulletFixed Activity

In the grid view the data is presented on a worksheet where you simply click on predefined dropdowns to assign the required characteristic(s) to each activity. The activity chips on the process control window are automatically updated to reflect your changes.

bulletValue Added Activities
bulletNon Value Added Activities
bulletAvoidable Delays
bulletUnavoidable Delays

QuickTimes is the integrated predetermined time system you can use for estimating jobs or exploring method improvement opportunities.
