General Information and First-Time Installation

There are two types of Timer Pro Licenses - Evaluation and Purchased.

When you purchase and install Timer Pro Professional you are required to enter a client code. You will find this code in the email with the download instructions. Once you have installed the program you must start the Video Time Study program once to generate your license file.

The license file is named TPROLIC.TXT and will be located in the timerpalm folder on your C drive.

This file is unique to each specific PC and can not be copied from one PC to another.

To register your license you must email the TPROLIC.TXT file to tech@acsco.com. It is recommended that you first ZIP the file since occasionally some email clients append characters to the txt file which corrupts it.

Your license file will be returned to you within 1 business day - if you require faster turnaround please also call us to advise us. 303-220-0130.

When you receive the returned file it may be in a ZIPPED format. If so please unzip but DO NOT OPEN the TPROLIC.TXT file. Simply copy the returned TPROLIC.TXT over the existing one in the timerpalm folder on your C drive.

Check the License Expiration Date

To check the expiration date of your license open the Video Time Study program. Choose the TOOLBOX menu option. On the left side above the How To Videos button is the expiration information.

Please send your TPROLIC.TXT file prior to the expiration date for renewal to avoid any lapse in service.

Evaluation License

The standard evaluation period is 15 days. Requests to extend the evaluation period can be made. If accepted, you must email your TPROLIC.TXT to us to process the extension.

When you receive the returned file it may also be in a ZIPPED format - if so please unzip but DO NOT OPEN the TPROLIC.TXT file. Simply copy the returned file over the existing one in the timerpalm folder on your C drive.

Purchasing After Installing a Evaluation Version

If you have installed an evaluation version and subsequently purchase a full license, you must DELETE the TPROLIC.TXT file before you install the full version. A new TPROLIC.TXT file must be created with your client code. Email this file for registration.

Upgrading Versions and Licensing

It is only necessary to reregister the PC if you receive a message to do so when you start the program. If you download and update the system and you DO NOT receive a message to register when you start the program you do not have to re-register your license.

If you do not have the most current license format you may be asked to upgrade it. First check your
current Timer Pro Professional version by starting Timer Pro. The version will be displayed at the bottom of the left side of the screen. If it is Version 8.0 or higher go to Solution 1.

If the Version is earlier than 8.0 you will need to download a new version. Email your request for the download link to tech@acsco.com

Annual Renewal

Licenses are registered for a period of approximately 1 year and must be renewed. Refer to the section on Checking the Expiration Date above.

Annual maintenance is included for the first year with the purchase of Timer Pro Professional licenses. The license that was attached in PDF format to the purchase email (which provided your download instructions) indicates your maintenance period and the first renewal date.

Please note that this date is the purchase date and is not affected by the day you install or register the product.

Approximately one month prior to the renewal date, the main contact person for us in your organization will receive via email the maintenance invoice for the coming year.

If you elect not to continue on the maintenance for program you will be responsible for maintaining a backup copy of the installation program should you need to reinstall for any reason.

You have the option within the first two years to reactivate the support program for any and all inactive licenses.

To do so we will ask that you remit all outstanding maintenance fees. The annual maintenance renewal date will remain the same regardless of where in the annual cycle these payment are made.

After this two year period, if you want to reactivate your licenses you must purchase the product again for the prevailing price.

If you are using less that your original purchase you may elect to maintain only the needed licenses at the renewal time but the policy outlined above is in effect should you elect to bring those non-renewed licenses back into use.

Removing / Moving a License to a New PC

If you need to remove a license from a PC (typically to move it to a new PC) you may do so by running the UNINSTALLER.EXE. If the file is not located in the timerplam folder on your C drive you may Download the UNINSTALLER.EXE here

Once you run the Uninstaller the system will be inactive but all your data will be preserved. The TPROLIC.TXT file will be modified to indicate that the license is no longer active.

Removing Only: Email this TPROLIC.TXT to tech@acsco.com. We will mark this PC as deactivated and release the license

Moving the License: Email this TPROLIC.TXT to tech@acsco.com. We will mark this PC as deactivated and release the license. Then follow the standard installation process on the new PC including sending the TPROLIC.TXT from the new machine to tech@acsco.com. If you need a new download link to do so please let us know in the email you send which includes the deactivated TPROLIC.TXT.

Reformatted PC

If you have modified any of your hardware components including reformatting your PC, your license will have to be updated. Please follow the steps for Solution 1 and advise us of the computer name prior to the changes so that we can update the correct PC.

Recreating the TPROLIC.TXT file

If your TPROLIC.TXT file becomes corrupt or has been replaced by a TPROLIC.TXT file from another

computer in error, delete the existing file, start the Video Time Study program once and it will be recreated. Check that the date is the current date and send the file to tech@acsco.com for processing.

Unicode Error

If you are on the maintenance program and are entitled to download the latest version please send an email to tech@acsco.com requesting the download details.

If you are not on the maintenance program:

1. Go to the C:\TimerPalm and locate the file TPFileCab.exe - rename this file to TPFilecab1.exe. (This is the file causing the Unicode error message)

2. Download TPFILECAB.ZIP and unzip the contents (TPFilecab.exx) into the C:\TimerPalm folder.

(Note -  the .exx extension is to help us get through firewalls to block .exe files.)

3. Go to the C:\TimerPalm and locate the file TPFileCab.exx - rename this file to TPFilecab.exe.

The program will now work as expected without the Unicode message.

To install Timer Pro Professional on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating system, you must turn off the User Access Control feature. Please download the Instruction Document for full details.

Clients Who are Using a PDA

These operating systems also does not use Active Sync. So if you are using Timer Pro Professional with a PDA you must replace Active Sync on your PC with a new product from Microsoft called Windows Mobile Device Center. You need to download it and install it on your PC.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/devicecenter.mspx

Once done, you will be able to communicate between the PDA and PC.
