2021 Annual Upgrades and Enhancements

2021 Upgrades and enhancements

Major Enhancements
1. Engineered Savings from Video Analysis

Based on client requests, this includes new menu options in both the Video Timer Pro and Balance modules plus completely redesigned screens and summary reports. This was all  designed to allow you to quickly engineer savings from the videos of the actual operations performed in your facilities. Together these new tools will allow you to easily:

  • Highlight existing waste in your process
  • Quantify the potential savings from your suggestions
  • Document and act to eliminate or reduce non value added activities

Additionally, you can create change-specific video clips with a single click to complement and support your time saving proposals. Additional enhancements of this feature are already in the planning stages.

2. Timer Pro Web Services (TPWS)

We are excited to launch our new Timer Pro Web Services (TPWS). TPWS is an internet-based subscription service that allows you to securely distribute standard work, video work instructions, operator training, and field staff and customer support video content to your internal and external end users.

Standard work and video content instantly streams to a browser describing the job with supporting audio and links to supporting documents, graphics and web pages.

All content resides behind your company firewall. No information is exposed on any public cloud.

Additional Enhancements
1. Exchange Names Clipboards between Video Time Study and Line Balancing Modules

This feature makes it easy to add blocks of work from Video Time Study to a line balance by using a named clipboard. Also – for the first time – you are able to take blocks of work from Line Balance via a named clipboard and import them into Video Time Study to make additions and edits.

2. Simplified Element Groupings

We have greatly simplified the creation and maintenance of activity groupings with new “point and click” start and end element selection. You can now also use the same grouping description multiple times in a process with each use being treated as a separate grouping.

Video content can also be played by grouping. Standalone grouping video clips can be generated with a single click. You can create processes with a mix of ungrouped and grouped elements and save approximately 60% development time by focusing on key areas.

3. Group Element Inheritance

Dragging and dropping activities now automatically inherit the group property of the place when the activity is dropped . When an activity is dropped between two groups the user is automatically prompted to identify which group they wish the activity to be associated with. A previous 5-click process is replaced by one or two clicks giving a 90% reduction in user effort.

4. Grouping Breakouts

For processes with longer takt times where groupings have been applied, a single selection breaks out all the groupings in a task and creates a separate balance chart by grouping.  This makes your processes infinitely more readable and manageable.

Additional work instruction report variables by individual groupings can be used in work instruction summary sheets. This feature is available in the subscription and floating license platforms.

5. Line Balance Grouped Elements

Line Balancing module previously worked with only ungrouped elements. Now you can balance by groupings and a combination of grouped and ungrouped elements which greatly simplifies and speeds the balance process.

6. New Multi-Model Line Balance Module

We completely rebuilt the base model creation with options to create an Excel template for rapid development of multi model input. This includes model percentages, option percentages, color coding of groupings in Excel. Groupings can be used in all models. This eliminates 80% of previous manual effort.

7. Mass Update Activities Across Multi Model Line Balances

The need for mass update arose due to multiple models going down the same line with the same activity occurring several times in each model. A change in one occurrence of an activity requires the update of that activity in all places it is used in that model. The same change is now automatically made in all models in the line that used the same activity. This saves 95% of the effort previously required.

8. Work Instructions with Summary Sheets

You can now add a customized summary sheet to your standard work and consolidate data from station worksheets into the “cover” sheet. Perform detailed summary calculations e.g. total process utilization, efficiency, yields etc. on the cover sheet. This feature is available in subscription and floating license platforms.
